The Chronicles Begin, or How'd You Get Yourself to Do That?
About three weeks ago, I moved from a fairly large apartment on Liberty Street in San Francisco to a houseboat in Sausalito. The most frequent question I've gotten is "So can you just sail it anywhere you want?" (the answer is no, I can't sail it anywhere. In addition to being moored on a concrete hull, the houseboat is connected to the city's gas and water lines, so breaking away is not only difficult to impossible, but also might cause an epic action-movie explosion. Or that's the way it would be in my mind).
But the best question I've gotten is "How'd you get yourself to do that?"
This blog is intended to answer that very question, and to chronicle what I hope to be an unusual and exciting experience moving forward, for at least the next year.
Of course, I expect this will turn into a best-selling novel, and then an Oscar-winning film that's translated into at least 34 languages. I've got to start thinking about who will play me. The most likely candidate is probably Chloris Leachman.

Like your blog, fun read! And I love the pictures you post. The sharks & teeny-boppers made me laugh out loud (in that guilty schadenfreude kind of way). Altho, I think you should give yourself more credit.... I think Claire Danes should play you in the movie.
